The Use Of Tea Tree Oil For Thrush

One home remedy many persons find successful is using tea tree oil for thrush. Thrush is a common name for the candida fungal infection that forms in the lining of the mouth and throat in infected individuals. This is generally not a serious ailment though many do seek medical treatment for the problem. Melaleuca oil is the proper name for the commonly referred to tea tree oil. The tree in only found in New South Wales. Another name for the candida infection is yeast infection. When the yeast infection is located in the oral cavities it is referred to by the common name of thrush. Infants often suffer from this ailment though it is found in older individuals as well. No treatment is generally needed for babies who have the condition as it generally heals on its own rather quickly. Older folks, however, usually need some form of treatment to cure the infection and provide relief from the discomfort the infection produces.

It is simple to prepare melaleuca oil as a mouth irrigating solution. The oil can be found in many health food stores as well as holistic shops. Once the oil is purchased, all the individuals has to do is mix one teaspoon of the oil into a glass containing twelve ounces of lukewarm water. The liquids then should be stirred thoroughly prior to use as a gargle.

The gargle should be used up to three times a day to treat the infections. Gargling for 30 seconds and then expelling the liquid is all that is required for treatment. The patient might require a stronger treatment in order to get rid of a persistent yeast infection. It is important to successfully treat the condition to prevent it from worsening.

A solution of the oil mixed with water can be utilized as a mouth gargle that not only helps cure the yeast infection but provides instant relief from the pain it causes.
