Chiropractic Helps Relieve Pinched Nerves In Castle Rock

By Clinton Arnhold

A pinched nerve in the neck or back can cause pain in a number of ways. You may have neck and shoulder pain or headaches. During your first appointment with a leading Castle Rock Chiropractor all possibilities will be explored to determine cause.

When someone ignores chronic pain, it may cause more serious health problems. You may be experiencing limited range of motion, numbness and finding it hard to get up from a sitting position. In addition, an irritated nerve may cause muscle spasms.

There may be a subluxation of a spinal vertebra exerting pressure and pinching one of the nerves. Disc degeneration may occur with age or disease. This often reduces the opening through which a nerve exits from the spinal cord.

Osteoarthritis is one example of a degenerative cause. A herniated disc is another example of nerve compression, causing the irritated or pinched feeling. Bone spurs may also be impacting one of the nerves.

You might be experiencing one, or a combination of, these signs of the pinched nerve. The chiropractic examination will include taking a medical history, palpating the spine and taking one or more x-rays. Until the exam is complete, no care can be recommended.

After you have been evaluated, a course of spinal adjustments might be the recommended type of care. They have proven to be effective in reducing the pressure against a nerve. Not only is the pain of the pinched nerve alleviated, the cause of the compression that caused the pinching is resolved.

Office time will be reserved for you to receive this care. Over time the vertebrae are moved back into the correct position on the spine. Massage is often added to the care plan since muscles in the area may be tight. With each subsequent adjustment, pressure is relieved and pain is alleviated.
