Night apnea is when a person s air supply gets interrupted by difficulty in breathing during sleeping and thereby reducing the amount of oxygen acquired by the body.

OSA occurs when the muscle at the back of the throat supporting the tongue, uvula and tonsils relax and thus blocking the airway, obstruction of the airway will make breathing difficult. The airway may get blocked during inhalation, or it may just narrow, either way, air supply to the body will be inadequate and blood will be short of oxygen.
