Scratching may provide relief but it can make matters worse. You may potentially break your skin, leading to bacterial activity. When that happens, an infection is likely to take place. Especially if you are prone to itching due to insect bites, dry weather, and the use of skincare and household cleaning products with irritating chemicals, keep on reading. Below are various natural anti itch cream recipes that you may try.

Baking soda combined with water. A commonly used ingredient especially by bakers, baking soda can be used to deal with skin itchiness. You can turn it into a paste by adding just a few drops of water to it. Apply the resulting white paste where it matters, letting it dry there. For superb results, apply several times throughout the day.

Oats with a little water. Another effective home remedy for itching is paste out of oats and water. For better consistency, it's a good idea to use a food processor in pulverizing oats. If you are experiencing itchiness practically all over your body, immerse in a tub of cool water with a cup of pulverized oats in it.

Aloe vera gel plus clay. If you have some aloe vera plants in your garden, skin itchiness should never be a big problem. What you need to do is harvest a tablespoon of aloe vera gel. Afterwards, combine it with equal amounts of clay. The resulting cream is very good at providing much needed relief. Aloe vera gel that comes in a tube may also be used, but make sure that it does not contain any unnecessary ingredients.

Fresh basil with some olive oil. Basil is not only good at making different Italian dishes smell and taste unforgettable, but also relieving skin itchiness. Pound a few freshly harvested basil leaves. Add a couple of drops of olive oil to the mush. Mix very well, generously apply, and then allow it to remain there for up to half an hour. Wash it off with water thoroughly after.

Garlic with a little olive oil. One more common cooking ingredient that you may use together with olive oil is garlic. In 1/2 cup of olive oil, saute 2 or 3 minced cloves of garlic. Let it infuse for 12 hours. Apply as necessary afterwards.

Peppermint oil and carrier oil. An ingredient found in many commercially available remedies for skin itchiness is peppermint essential oil. If you have a bottle of it, you may add a couple of drops of it to your preferred carrier oil. Mix and then apply on itchy areas with the help of a cotton swab. Wash it off with water after about 30 minutes.

Microwaved organic honey. Aside from being an alternative to refined sugar, honey is also oftentimes employed for dealing with skin itching due to many different causes. If you want an all natural remedy for itchiness, have a small bottle of organic honey within your reach. You may warm it up in your microwave for just a few seconds for better results. To prevent complications, double check that it's not blistering hot before application.
